Off-Campus Access to Library Resources
Many of the Library's services are available to anyone with Internet access. These include access to the BGSU Libraries Catalog and the OhioLINK Central Catalog. Valid users also have access to their library accounts/circulation records, which will allow for online book renewal, as
well as online borrowing privileges from OhioLINK libraries.
Nearly all of BGSU's research databases and electronic journals are available off-campus via an authentication process. When you attempt to open a research database or electronic journal
when you are off campus, you will be prompted for your BGSU email username and password.
Authentication for off-campus access requires:
- A BGSU email username and password. If you are new to campus and don't yet have one, contact campus ITS for help.
-
A valid BGSU record in the Library's patron database. Students, faculty and staff are loaded into the library database at regular
intervals at the beginning of each semester, but if you are new to campus and need immediate access, call the circulation
desk at 419-372-2051 or drop by during open hours. Students and classified staff may have to revalidate their records in person
at the circulation desk each semester. Faculty and administrative staff may have to revalidate at the end of every spring
semester.
-

Visit the Ask Us! page to send an e-mail or IM describing your problem in detail. Please indicate the name of the database you are trying

records if they are valid in the Library's patron database. Courtesy Card holders must revalidate at the circulation desk
each semester.
