This conference assessed the progress made since the proceeding two conferences, held in Mexico City in 1975 and in Copenhagen in 1980. The themes of the conference were equality, development and peace. Topics included legal rights, education, employment, health care, political participation, economic challenges, families, apartheid, etc.
This collection includes all of the substantive official papers of the conference, statements made by non-governmental organizations, and miscellaneous related documents made available to the conference participants.
