The Vienna Congress was held after the defeat of Napoleon in April 1814 and the nations of Austria-Hungary, France, Italy, and Great Britain attended the Congress. Major players in the Congress included: Prince Klemens von Metternich, Tsar Alexander I, Prince Karl August von Hardenberg, Lord Castlereagh, the Duke of Wellington, and Charles Maurice de Talleyrand. The work is comprised of the acts and proceedings of the Congress, in eight volumes.
