Newspapers
The BGSU Libraries has a number of newspaper subscriptions, national and international. Many of these newspapers are kept in the Periodicals Area (on the 1st floor of Jerome Library) behind the Periodicals Desk. We have Research Databases available for finding newspaper articles: Newspaper Source, LexisNexis Academic (full-text newspapers) and the BG News Index. For assistance, please ask at the Main Reference Desk or the Main Periodicals Desk.
The Center for Archival Collections maintains a collection of local area newspapers concentrating on the 19 counties in Northwest Ohio from the earliest times to the present. For a complete list of holdings, see Using the Guide to Newspapers at the CAC.
The Historical Collections of the Great Lakes has a chronological collection of marine news from major Great Lakes ports such as Cleveland, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Toledo, etc.; approx. 550 volumes. |
