Foreign Language Education
The Foreign Language Education major is a competitive four-year program that offers licensure in French, German, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. Students who enroll in the major are eligible for a multi-age (3-21) teaching license
Study Abroad
The language programs require students to study abroad to enhance their language proficiency and cultural knowledge. Students will spend at least a semester in Tours, France; Alcala de Henares, Spain; Salzburg, Austria; or St. Petersburg, Russia.
Career Opportunities
Foreign language skills provide students with an edge in finding fulfilling careers in education. There are critical shortages in the cores subject area of foreign language instruction. These shortages are especially noted in states where the standards are calling for K-12 language instruction.
