A student who completes the business education major at Bowling Green State University receives a Bachelor of Science in Education
degree and is eligible for a Integrated Business teaching license in grades 4 and beyond, providing that he or she has a 2.5 accumulative grade point average and has successfully
completed the required Praxis examinations, a background check, and any other state requirements. The business education degree program is designed to be completed
in 4 years.
Upon completion of the baccalaureate degree, students in business education are expected to:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding necessary to perform successfully in the following four teacher performance domains:
organizing content knowledge for student learning, creating an environment for student learning, teaching for student learning
and teacher professionalism;

Describe trends and issues in workforce education including career-technical education, tech prep, career academies/majors/pathways,
high schools that work and other national school reform initiatives;

Demonstrate an understanding of the content areas for which they will be licensed to teach including such subjects as: accounting,
basic business, business law, business economics, computer information technology and systems, management, office procedures
and software applications in business.
The business education program requires approximately 60 semester hours of business content course credit, 48-54 hours of
professional education course credit, 6-8 hours of college requirement credit, and 30-37 hours of university general education
requirement credit.
