The Master of Education in Business Education is designed to qualify students for sound innovative teaching in the classroom, business and industry, and creative leadership among peers. The degree can be achieved through two plans. Plan I requires the student to complete 33 semester hours of credit, including a thesis. Plan II requires 33 semester hours of credit and a final written comprehensive examination.
Each of the options below allows the candidate to select various elective courses that will complement his/her program goals. Regardless of the option selected, each candidate takes five courses as part of the program core.
The degree allows students to match their background and career goals to one of the five program options:
1. Teacher Licensure in Integrated Business and/or Marketing Education. This options offers students an opportunity to gain a provisional license to teach business and/or marketing in grades 4-12 and beyond.

2. Master Teacher in Business Education. Students enhance their professional competence in teaching business courses at the secondary, business college, technical/community college, and adult education levels.

3. Master Teacher in Marketing Education. Students enhance their professional competence in teaching marketing, management, or entrepreneurship at the secondary, business college, technical/community college, and adult education levels.

4. Post-secondary Education. Students prepare to teach business subjects at the post-secondary level including technical schools, community colleges, junior colleges, four-year colleges/universities, and adult and continuing education.
