Student Teaching/Intern Mentor Opportunities |

Experienced educators are hired each semester to supervise methods students and/or student teachers/interns who are completing
field and clinical experiences in area schools. University mentors support and evaluate students in specific program areas,
so successful classroom teaching experience, knowledge of current standards and best practices, and extensive content knowledge
are needed. In addition, the ability to work with both students and area school partners in a collaborative relationship
and to communicate regularly with all parties is crucial.
Job Description
- Part-time employment
- Extensive travel to area schools to communicate the BGSU mission and program requirements to students, university mentors
and school administrators
- Mentor students in field/clinical experiences and perform the required number of visits, observations, conferences and evaluations
- Collaborate with university mentors to assist, solve problems, and evaluate student performance
- Willing and able to put in the time and make the school visits needed for student success
- Serve as a liaison with area school personnel to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships
- Use technology to communicate regularly, access information and complete on-line forms
- Attend the Student Teacher/Intern Orientation and participate in all required training and professional development meetings
each semester
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate & Master’s degrees from accredited institutions
- Teaching certificate/license in area of supervision
- Minimum of 3 years of successful P-12 classroom teaching experience
- Basic level of computer proficiency (e-mail, word processing, internet search)
Preferred:
- Pathwise training or willing to be trained immediately
- Familiarity with BGSU website, Blackboard web portal, etc. or willing to be trained immediately
- Additional supervisory/mentoring experience
