Spacer EDHD REPORT: Final Evaluation of Student Teaching/Internship Spacer
 

Source Material: Evaluations of culminating practicum performance of individual EDHD teacher/intern candidates during a given academic year. Candidates are evaluated according to criteria in the following seven domains. The first four of these are adapted Pathwise domains that follow those utilized by the State of Ohio in its mandated Praxis III evaluation of first year teacher candidates. The remaining three criteria domains were developed by BGSU educator preparation faculty to address elements of professional, state and institutional standards which were not otherwise addressed in the existing Pathwise framework.

  1. Organizing content knowledge for student learning
  2. Creating an environment for student learning
  3. Teaching for student learning
  4. Teacher professionalism
  5. Diversity
  6. Collaboration
  7. Technology

Using program guidelines/rubrics, supervisors and cooperating teachers each rate the BGSU candidate on teach domain using the following scale categories:

  1. Unacceptable
  2. Acceptable
  3. Target

They then collaborate to determine a composite rating for each domain and draft summary or explanatory comments to further elucidate and/or interpret significant aspects of the candidate’s performance with reference to specific elements of the accompanying rubric.

EDHD Report Content: The Final Evaluation of Student Teaching/Internship Report includes:

  1. Individual Program Sheets showing percentage of candidates from a single program achieving each category ranking for each evaluated domain and the mean domain scores for all domains across all candidates from that program
  2. Program Summary Sheet showing comparative percentage of candidates from each program included in the unit achieving at each category ranking for each evaluated domain and the mean domain scores for all domains across all candidates from each program in the unit.
  3. Total College Summary Sheet showing percentage of all candidates from the unit in a given academic year achieving each categorical ranking under each domain as well as a  cumulative grand mean score for each domain across the entire unit.
