Objective:
To estimate sums using rounded factors
Materials required:
Math journal and pencil
Description of the Activity:
On the board or overhead, put the problems 65 + 28 = and 21 + 73 =. Have the students write in their journals if the estimated sum will be greater or less than the actual amount. Then explain the reason for their answer.
