LAURA LITTLE

I am in my fourteenth year of teaching in the Lakewood City Schools (the first suburb west of Cleveland). Most of my experience has been at the 4th and 5th-grade levels at Franklin Elementary. Since 1993 I have been involved with an NSF-sponsored mathematics project for elementary teachers in the Cleveland Public Schools. During the fall semester of 1996, my husband and I took professional leaves, and spent 4 1/2 months on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The Lakota (Sioux) people are the residents of this reservation. Together we taught 5 education methods classes to elementary education majors at Oglala Lakota College. It was a very enlightening, fulfilling, challenging, and, at times, frustrating experience ... all the components of a worthwhile endeavor !

DEBRA GALLAGHER

I am finishing my nineteenth year in the Genoa Schools where I have taught grades 2-8, regular and special education. I have been involved with the Regional Professional Development Centers in the areas of Cooperative Learning and Math. I have also worked with the Buckeye Assessment Team for Science presenting workshops on implementing the science model and using various assessment strategies.

SARAH CARVER

I daily accept the challenge of a seventh grade mathematics classroom in the Margaretta School District.
