Who Joins AMCD?

If you work with multicultural populations, or if you are concerned about the quality of counseling and guidance services they receive, then you belong in AMCD. Join now by completing a membership application.

Benefits of Membership

Besides the benefits of ACA membership, AMCD provides members with:
  1. Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development, published quarterly
  2. AMCD Newsletter, published three times annually
  3. Opportunities for professional growth and leadership through participation in regional and state division activities, committees and commissions, special projects, the annual ACA convention, and the AMCD Leadership Development Workshop
  4. Assistance, when requested, in resolving professional issues
  5. Support through interactions with empathetic professionals who encounter concerns and problems that are likely to be similar to those that you experience
  6. A network of 25 state divisions that address issues at the state and local levels
  7. Opportunities for publication of research and theoretical papers about multicultural counseling and development

Types of Membership

  1. Regular (voting): Open to ACA members involved in personnel and guidance professions
  2. Student (voting): Open to ACA student members currently enrolled half-time or more in a graduate counseling program
  3. Retired (voting): Open to AMCD members more than 60 years of age who have held membership in ACA for at least the past five years
