Once a location for an off-campus site is chosen, usually an informational
meeting for educators in surrounding areas is advertised and held. The
meeting is simply informational and there is no obligation for those who
attend. If you are unable to attend the informational meeting, you may
contact Nancy Brownell at nbrowne@bgnet.bgsu.edu or (419)372-7359 for additional
information, and you must contact her if you decide to apply. Click here to see currently scheduled informational meetings.
[Steps for applying to the Master's of Education in Classroom
Technology Program]
Once you have decided to apply to the program follow these steps, detailed
below, to complete the application process.
Application forms are available through links below, but you
may also obtain them in print at an informational meeting or dinner,
or by contacting Nancy Brownell at nbrowne@bgnet.bgsu.edu or (419)372-7359.
If you are applying less than two months before the first class
starts, do the following two tasks first:
1. Complete a graduate guest registration
application for
the first course. This form, titled " Graduate Non-Degree Application,"
allows you to be registered as a guest student at the graduate level, i.e.,
a graduate who is not yet accepted into a degree program.
- Download the Graduate
Non-Degree Application Form,
in pdf format.
- Mail
the form to
Nancy Brownell,
School
of Teaching
and
Learning,
529 Education Building, Bowling Green State
University, Bowling Green, OH 43403,
(419) 372-7359, or fax the form to
Nancy
Brownell
at 419.372.8265.
- If your undergraduate degree was
earned at the University of Toledo,
Ohio State University,
Wright State University or Indiana University,
attach or send a copy of your transcript
to Nancy. This copy does not have
to be an official transcript,
and only a transcript from the degree-awarding
university, if one of the above, is required.
2. Complete a Financial
Responsibility form. Mail
the form to
Nancy Brownell,
School
of Teaching
and
Learning,
529 Education Building, Bowling Green State
University, Bowling Green, OH 43403,
(419) 372-7359, or fax the form to
Nancy
Brownell
at 419.372.8265. (Ignore mailing directions on the
form.)
3. Complete a Registration form. (This is a new step with a new form) Mail the form to Nancy Brownell, School
of Teaching and Learning, 529 Education Building, Bowling Green State University,
Bowling
Green,
OH 43403,
(419)
372-7359, or fax the form to Nancy Brownell at 419.372.8265. (Ignore mailing
directions on the form.)
- In the "Course Selection" area: if this is your first course in the program,
Dept = EDTL, Course Number = 631, Hrs = 3, and Grade should be checked.
Other information may be left blank.
- Under "Please Complete the Following" enter the last term and year you attended
BGSUor check the appropriate box.
- Under "Admission Status" check "Masters" if you have already been acccepted in
to this program, otherewise check"Gradute/Non-Degree."
- Be sure to sign the form.

or via postal mail at School of Teaching and Learning, 529 Education

In
the letter include:
- Specification of the cohort to which you are applying,
such as "On-Campus/Perrysburg Cohort, Summer,

technology, and particularly technology in the
classroom.

technology. (Why are you applying for this program?)

Contact Information: The Graduate

120 McFall Center, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green,
Ohio 43403, Phone: (419) 372-2791. Web site: http://www.bgsu.edu/colleges/gradcol/
- You may apply online to
the Graduate College at http://www.bgsu.edu/colleges/gradcol/page24959.html or request the printed
form from the Graduate College.
The application web site also links to a program page for more program specific information. Rather than going to that link, which is a Graduate College page with incomplete information, return back to this page for application details.
If you apply via paper, send it to the Graduate College.
- When applying, be sure to indicate that you are requesting a
program/degree from the College of Education and Human Development,
and that you are
requesting the Classroom Technology Program.
(Choosing a degree in
the Career and Technology Education program
is a common mistake
and, unfortunately, slows the application process considerably.)
- Have two official
transcripts from each college you have attended sent to
the Graduate College (Official transcripts from BGSU courses
do not have to be requested.) A transcript
request form in Microsoft Word format is available, if you
wish to use it. Send the form to the university from which you
are
requesting
transcripts.
Transcripts should be sent directly from
each higher education instution
you have
attended to the Graduate College.
7. Have three letters of reference sent to:
Nancy Brownell, School
of Teaching and Learning, 529 Education Building,
Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH 43403 or have the
referring person send the reference via email directly
to nbrowne@bgsu.edu. At your option, reference
forms (pdf format) may be used in place
of, or in addition to, letters.
8. Schedule the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test and
have results sent to the BGSU Graduate College. Read
more about the GRE. Fully detailed GRE information
is available at the GRE
web site, http://www.gre.org/.
9. Have the Dispositions form completed and submitted by an administrator.
- Download and print the Dispositions form (http://www.bgsu.edu/colleges/edhd/mct/KA24aDispositions.pdf)
- Enter your name and your university ID or social security number in the spaces at the top. Leave the "Class/Experience and/or Location" blank.
- Ask an administrator, or the administrator's choice of a person who knows you well, to complete the form and send it to Nancy Brownell, School of Teaching and Learning, 529 Education
Building, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH 43403.
