Expedition Inside Culture in the Mazuri Lakes, Poland

Warsaw Poland--In the program Expedition Inside Culture (EIC) educators and
pre-services teacher conducted a local history study in the southeast region
of Poland in the small town of Wetlina (pronounced Vetlina). The Ohio educators
lead and work with educators and pre service teachers from Romania, Poland,
Ukraine, and Germany as well as bringing together high school students to work
in a collaborative learning environment where discussions about culture, tolerance,
and local history occurred.
The purpose of EIC is to aid the individuals that have been subjected to
intolerant behaviors.Tto challenge the rationale of EIC participants, the victims,
and the perpetrators. Lastly consciousness raising of intolerant behaviors
in the participants world.The objective of the workshop was to develop and
strengthen the attitudes of tolerance towards others as well as to develop
skills of cooperation and active participation for public life in a democratic
society.
