Ohio H.B. 40, 128th General Assembly – Leave for Parenting Time

- Requires an employer to allow an employee who is a parent to exercise parenting time pursuant to a court order without terminating the parent's employment, reducing the parent's pay, or taking any other similar adverse action against the parent.
- Defines "employer" for purposes of the requirement in the first dot point to mean any person engaged in commerce or in any industry or activity affecting commerce who employs 50 or employees for each working day during at least 20 or more calendar work weeks in the current or preceding calendar year, a person acting in the interest of such an employer to any employees of the employer, a successor in interest to any such employer, or any public agency.
Ohio H.B. 48, 128th General Assembly – Leave for Spouse or Parent of Active Duty Service Members

- Provides two weeks of leave for any employee who is the spouse or parent of a member of the uniformed services who is called to active duty or is injured, wounded, or hospitalized while serving in a combat zone.
