(International Travel
Education Opportunity)

A travel education opportunity will be
provided by Sport Management, Recreation and Tourism Division at Bowling Green
State University this July. Students
will have an opportunity to travel and study tourism management while exploring
the beauty of Niagara Falls in both Canada and US during a three day trip. Participants in the trip will become immersed
with a different culture, learn about tourism planning and have fun. This is a three-credit practicum including
three-day on-campus training (July 7-9) and three-day Niagara Falls (July
10-13).
The program includes a city tour in Buffalo, NY;
visits to Niagara Falls in both Canada and US sides; tickets to an IMAX 3-D
movie; the Maid-of-the-Mist boat tour; a visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake (the most
beautiful town in Canada); an Erie Canal Tour in Lockport, NY; and Tourism
panel discussions with managers from Buffalo Convention and Visitor
Bureau. Also, we are scheduled to attend
the Taste of Buffalo Festival, one of the biggest food events in North
America. We will enroll all students who
are interested in this summer. The total
cost of the travel is approximately $189, including hotels, transportation and
the tours. Experienced tourism faculty
from Bowling Green State University will assist students during this trip and
provide on-site learning opportunities for students. If you are interested or have questions,
please contact Dr. Philip Xie (pronounced Shay)
