Graduate Assistantships
Graduate Assistantship Assignments
Graduate student assistantship assignments include:
- Teaching Assistant - Assist faculty in teaching courses for majors (e.g., assist grading, developing class materials, and leading discussion or lab sections)
- Teaching Physical Activity Courses (e.g., teaching basketball, swimming, and yoga)
- Research Assistant - Work with faculty on their research in progress (e.g., assist collecting data, entering data into spreadsheets, or conducting literature searches)
- Administrative Assistant - Work with a Program Coordinator on administrative tasks (e.g., assist with HMSLS website, work with the Sport Performance Team or Maxwell Sport Media Project)
Graduate Assistantship Requirements
Criteria for being considered for an assistantship:
- Have regular admission status to the HMSLS graduate program
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher OR Graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (for 9 or more credit hours)
- Submission of the Graduate Assistantship Application by February 1
