To apply for admission, the applicant must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and coursework in chemistry, biology and nutrition. Students are selected based on academic performance, relevant work experience, letters of recommendation, civic and/or college activities, and a letter of application.

Applicants must first apply for admission through BGSU's Graduate College by:

  • Applying on-line to the Graduate College ($30 application fee, payable to BGSU Graduate College)
  • Completion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) General Test
  • Non-native speakers of English must also take the TOEFL

Second, to gain admission into the Food and Nutrition specialization in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, the MSFCS application and three letters of recommendation must be sent directly to:
