Curriculum
The Dietetics Program, also known as a Didactic Program in Dietetics, or DPD, is a four-year program, which has been granted
Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association. The
curriculum meets the knowledge, skills, and competencies for entry-level dietitian education programs and will result in a
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Dietetics. Upon completion of an internship, after graduation, and the successful completion
of the national registration examination, you will be a registered dietitian, eligible for licensure in most states.
If you pursue this major, you will take courses in chemistry, biology, nutrition, and food science, as well as classes that
will focus on developing your management and communication skills. Your coursework will include supervised hands-on experiences.
To successfully complete the program you must meet the University's and College of Education and Human Development's general
education requirements, the program major courses, and supportive required courses.
