Why should you choose BGSU?
At Bowling Green State University, we are committed to providing a program that allows you to pursue individual interests that are supportive of your long-term goals. This includes 186 hours devoted to electives in both the on-site and distance options.
A Health and Wellness concentration has been added to foster future professionals who will be in a position to promote the American Dietetic Association’s Public Policy message “Nutrition is the Cornerstone of Prevention. You will be guided throughout your practice experience in the development of knowledge and skills in the area of wellness education and health promotion that you can bring with you as you begin your dietetics career. You will develop a health promotion program from beginning to end and implement it to improve community wellness.
On campus interns have the opportunity to work with the BGSU employee WellAware program and an elementary school program entitled Mission: Nutrition! Distance interns can choose to work with senior centers, weight loss groups, schools, farmers markets, WIC, Extension, Head Start or employee wellness programs in the setting of their choice.
This concentration will add to your preparation as a Registered Dietitian as you position yourself as the nutrition expert in any future work environment.
