Master's Degree Program Application Procedures
Dear M.Ed. Prospective Student:
Thank you for your interest in the Master’s Degree program in Educational Administration and Supervision (EDAS). The following
materials are required before a decision can be made regarding admission to the program.
1. A completed BGSU Graduate College Application for Admission; this must be completed online at http://www.bgsu.edu/colleges/gradcol/page24959.html
2. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work.
3. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores taken within the past five years; preferred minimum composite score of 800.
4. Letter of application to the EDAS Program Coordinator detailing (a) why you have chosen this program at BGSU, (b) your
professional goals, academic strengths, and personal characteristics that will lead to your success as a school administrator;
(c) ways in which you will be an asset to our program; and (d) why you should be admitted to this program. In addition, you
will need to complete and submit the EDAS Database Form (click here).
5. A copy of your most recent resume/curriculum vita that includes evidence of (a) successful teaching experience; (b) leadership
ability or capacity; (c) professional development activities; and (d) professional memberships, committees, publications,
and honors.
6. Three Recommendation Forms/Letters – The information on the form or in the letter must speak to your potential success
both as a graduate student and as an educational administrator. One must be from an individual familiar with your academic
ability; the other two must be from an administrator or supervisor who is familiar with your professional performance. Of

7. For those who are seeking Ohio administrative licensure in conjunction with the M.Ed., a completed Application for Administrative
Licensure form. Choose either the Word version or the HTML version of the form.
8. Applicants must have one year of teaching experience in a school setting. Prospective students without teaching experience
may be considered; however, a rationale will need to be provided by the student as to why we should consider their application,
and the faculty committee will also interview the prospective student.
9. All students must electronically sign a Financial Responsibility Agreement in advance of enrolling. Use your BGSU userID and password to login to the MyBGSU web portal. You will find the link under Financial Services in the MyServices portlet. Click here for more information.
10. Pending your application, you may complete up to 9 credit hours as a non-degree student. You must complete an application in order to register for classes prior to program admission.

NOTE: ALL ADMISSIONS DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BEFORE THE END OF YOUR FIRST SEMESTER OF COURSEWORK! A recommendation regarding your admissibility will be made by the Graduate College within 30 days after you have completed
the above program application procedures. Please complete all application procedures for admission to the EDAS Master’s degree
program in a timely fashion. A review of incomplete applications is made quarterly and your file will be withdrawn from active
application status if you do not complete the admission procedures.
