Faculty Highlights
- Mike Bradie was recognized at a special dinner for 40 years' service at BGSU.
- Jeff Moriarty has been named as the sole 2008 recipient of the BGSU Outstanding Young Scholar Award.
- George Agich’s book, Dependence and Autonomy in Old Age: An Ethical Framework for Long-Term Care, was translated into Portuguese and published by Edicoes Loyola (2008), and he also published nine articles or book chapters in 2007-8.
- Fred Miller co-edited two books published in 2007: The History of Philosophy of Law from the Ancient Greeks to the Scholastics (edited in association with Carrie-Ann Biondi, Springer), and Freedom, Reason, and the Polis: Essays in Ancient Greek Political Philosophy (co-edited with David Keyt, Cambridge University Press). He also has eight forthcoming articles on ancient philosophy.
- Jeff Moriarty’s article “McMahon on Workplace Democracy” was published in the Journal of Business Ethics 71 (2007). He also published two other articles on business ethics.
- David Shoemaker was a faculty research fellow at the Center for Ethics & Public Affairs, Murphy Institute at Tulane University, 2007-2008, and he published “Moral Address, Moral Responsibility, and the Boundaries of the Moral Community” in Ethics 118 (2007), and “Personal Identity and Practical Concerns” in Mind 116 (2007). He also published two books in 2008: Knowledge, Nature, and Norms (with Mark Timmons), and Personal Identity and Ethics: A Brief Introduction for Broadview Press.
