Department of Computer Science, Chair
The Department of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University seeks an individual with exemplary leadership skills to serve as chair beginning July 1, 2012. The new chair is expected to work effectively with on-campus personnel and help build strong partnerships on campus and in the community.
The candidate should have an earned doctorate in Computer Science or closely related field and be eligible for a tenured full professor appointment. We seek a visionary leader who can, with the support of the College, transform the Department by building on existing strengths and moving into new areas of curriculum and research. The successful candidate must have an established national reputation as a scholar, have demonstrated excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, have been successful in obtaining grants to support research, and have had experience in academic administration. As an administrator, the candidate should possess a record of effective strategic planning, technical leadership, and commitment to undergraduate education as well as effective communication and management skills. Experience with ABET accreditation and assessment is desired.
Bowling Green State University is a public institution in northwest Ohio with approximately 17,300 undergraduate and 2,900 graduate students. The Department offers degrees at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s level and serves approximately 300 students. Instructors, Department of Environment and Sustainability
The majority of the teaching responsibility will be instructing the entry-level and general education courses. The successful candidates also will have the ability to teach an upper-division interdisciplinary field oriented laboratory course on environmental assessment. Candidates should have good knowledge of quantitative evaluation techniques and field ecology. Additional knowledge areas of potential benefit to the department include geospatial analysis, computational methods, environmental health and international environmental issues. Experience and interest in organizing and conducting off-campus week long educational trips also is desirable.
The positions require the ability and commitment to effectively teach at the undergraduate level, to work collaboratively with department faculty and staff, and to be committed to facilitating student success.
Nine month contract (August – May). One one-year and one three-year appointment. Positions to start August 2012.

Qualifications: MFA degree or equivalent in animation or a related discipline required. The applicant should have advanced expertise in 3D character animation with supporting experience in 2D animation. Expertise in 3D animation and modeling should include inverse and forward kinematics, rigging, polygonal and NURBS modeling, texturing and lighting and an understanding of the principles of animation and narrative structure. Ideal candidates will also have some of the following qualifications: industry experience, compositing, concept development, storyboarding, modeling, figure drawing for animation and cell animation.

Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies / School of Cultural and Critical Studies
The School of Cultural and Critical Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 2012. The position will be a joint appointment between the School of Cultural and Critical Studies and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program (formerly known as the Women’s Studies Program).
We are searching for candidates who will make dynamic contributions to the curriculum and help build the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program’s visibility on campus and in the region. The Program offers a graduate certificate, major, and minor in Women’s Studies and a new minor in Sexuality Studies. Applicants’ research and teaching must contribute to the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and other units in the School of Cultural and Critical Studies.
Demonstrated ability to teach online and face-to-face graduate and undergraduate courses and to contribute to Sexuality Studies required. Teaching responsibilities will include: a wide array of undergraduate and graduate courses in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Program; a new School-level service-learning course; and other courses that serve the interdisciplinary School of Cultural and Critical Studies. Earned Ph.D. in Women’s Studies or related discipline or interdisciplinary field strongly preferred; A.B.D. considered. Candidates who contribute to underrepresented fields in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and who have demonstrated commitment to diversity and global issues preferred.
