Enrolling in the Chapman Community is a simple process, after you have applied for admission to BGSU and been accepted, and
after you have registered for a university e-mail account. The instructions below will assist you with all three steps of
the process.
STEP 1: APPLYING TO BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY
B.G.S.U. has expedited its application process by permitting prospective students to apply for admissions via the web. Follow
the steps below to initiate your application process:
- Go to http://www.bgsu.edu
- Select the “Schedule Your Visit” link at bottom of the main page
- Select “Apply Now”
- Follow prompts provided

STEP 2: APPLYING FOR A UNIVERSITY INTERNET ACCOUNT
- After being accepted, the student will receive a packet in the mail containing a temporary BGSU identification card, as well
as instructions concerning how to apply for a bgnet account. Simply follow the directions supplied in your acceptance packet
to register for, and receive, your account.
- If you know that you have been accepted, and you have yet to receive your acceptance packet but would still like to register
for an e-mail account, please call the Information Technology Services Office at (419) 372-0999 or send an e-mail to tsc@bgnet.bgsu.edu (provide your name and university identification number) to request assistance in registering for your account.
STEP 3: REGISTERING FOR HOUSING & SELECTING THE CHAPMAN COMMUNITY AT KOHL, AFTER BEING ACCEPTED BY BGSU AND GAINING A VALID
BGSU INTERNET ACCOUNT
Do the following:
- Go to http://my.bgsu.edu
- Provide your student identification number, your screen name, and your e-mail password
- Choose the “My Room & Meals” link along the right-hand margin of the page that appears
- Select “Chapman Comm at Kohl” when prompted to “Please identify your interest in a Residential Learning/Theme Community”
- Identify “Chapman Community at Kohl” as your first choice of programs from the provided list
