The following are just some of the community projects that Chapman students participate in:
•Creating art with children and residents at one of the largest homeless shelters in northwest Ohio

•Examining mental health, educational needs and resources of the youth and elderly members of the Wood County community, through focus
groups and other outreach activities
•Investigating the contamination of water sources used by rural families in Wood County
•Planning reading activities and reading with young children at the Wood County District Library
•Investigating the needs, problems, challenges, and opportunities available to rural migrant farm workers in northwest Ohio
•Exploring the physical and psychological effects of combat on military veterans, talking to Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, and
Afghanistan veterans, and developing ways to meet post-service needs of vets and their families.
• Determining the needs for environmental improvement and park maintenance in Bowling Green and throughout Wood County

• Developing innovative ways to use theatre in a variety of community settings—schools, grass roots organizations, and prisons
• Investigating and assessing the Black Swamp Girl Scout Service Unit, which serves Bowling Green, Haskins, Tontogany, Weston, Grand Rapids,
and Milton; and leading local Girl Scout troops
