Section 2.8
REQUESTS FOR NAME CHANGES
Departments/Schools which request name changes must submit a
request to the Dean articulating the reason for the change.
The Dean will seek the advice of the Council of Chairs and
Directors and A & S Council regarding the change. If endorsed,
the request will be forwarded to the Provost who will then distribute
it to the other Deans/Colleges. Within one month, if any of the other
collegiate units have an objection, they will notify the Provost who
will reconcile problems between the colleges. If no objection is
raised, or when the objection is reconciled, it will receive final
approval from the Provost.
Once approved, the Dean will inform the university community of
the change and its effective date.
