Bowling Green State University is constantly striving to improve and enhance the quality of education that their students
receive. In the past two years there have been many new programs have been initiated as ways to increase and aid in students
college education. Some of these programs include revamping of the General Education program, Service Learning and Community
Action Projects, development of living learning communities, the BG eXperience values program, and increased study abroad
initiatives. Many of these programs were developed in response to student concerns about classroom conditions and sizes.
Student Voice will be a monthly documentary news style video program, produced to inform BGSU administrators about the thoughts
and feelings of the student body. Each month a student crew, aided by A&S Vision will write, direct, and edit a 5-10 minute
story about student issues. These issues could range from classroom size issues, dorm issues, to other education issues… motivating
students, and engagement issues.
The first stage of this project will be coming up with topics and organizing a student crew. A&S Vision will meet with University
Administrators to come up with questions and research areas of interest. We will also advertise for student crew positions.
These will either be non-paid extracurricular positions or student internships or independent studies depending on how late
in the semester we get students onboard.
The project will begin in January 2007 with the first episode completed by Feb 20, 2007. These videos will be made available
on the web as well as delivered on DVD.
