| | Courtney Hutton "As a Student Leader, it is my responsibility to plan and organize programs within the Arts Village, and to check in with the other Arts Villagers to make sure everyone is getting along without any major problems. I am given the opportunity through the Arts Village to test my leadership ability while being in a welcoming environment. It’s a great thing about the Arts Village that it makes it safe to try to organize and lead other students. I’m able to improve my leadership, time management, and ability to work collaboratively without the same fear of failure that other organizations carry. In other organizations on campus, it seems to me that there is a pressure to instantly know exactly what you’re doing as an active member; there’s an expected confidence level. The Arts Village is what builds that confidence level. The people here understand that we’re all in the same boat, testing our abilities, learning our limits. Living in the Arts Village, first as a freshman member and now as an upperclassmen Student Leader, has been the biggest impact on me and on my conception of myself as a leader and contributive student." |
Joey Kujawski "The Arts Village is what made my first semester and acclimating to college life so smooth and successful. I met countless talented and brilliant people, immersed myself in art and different cultures, and found some artistic flair of my own along the way. I wholeheartedly recommend Arts Village not just for arts majors, but for anybody with a creative mindset looking for something different."
| | Catherine Pioli "The Arts Village is my favorite thing about BG. I've been a part of other organizations and learning communities before but none of them felt so much like a family (in a good way). It's great to be able to live and work with so many people who are all so different- in religion, in majors, in lifestyles- and yet just about everybody cares about each other and what we do here. I love being able to learn about and participate in things I wouldn't have the chance to anywhere else- like being part of a Japanese drumming group, making plaster casts of people, and listening to world class performers. You can't go wrong by getting involved." |
Brianna Karamol "The Arts Village is really what brought me on campus. I met every single friend I have there. Not only is the Arts Village a great place to live, but to expand horizons, get to know people you never thought you'd get to meet, and experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that are far greater than monetary wealth. I love the Arts Village, and I'm so glad I joined."
| | Teresa Lotz "I live about nine hours away from Bowling Green, and I was horrified about being so far away from my family. The Arts Village was a home-away-from-home, where I was put amongst passionate people that all shared my love for the arts and creative expression. Joining the Arts Village is one of the best decisions I've made in my life, and I wish I could stay there past my four years I'll be spending here in the university! The people are amazing; the programs are educational, fun, popular, and ever-changing; the faculty is more than willing to bend over backwards for every student to make their college experience the best it can be. The Arts Village's continued dedication to the arts, student life, and student happiness makes it the most vibrant place to be on campus—and my favorite place to be, nine hours away from home." |
