Major Leadership Programs
Leadership Academy is the premier, annual leadership conference at Bowling Green State University. This one-day event takes place in November and engages students in educational sessions targeted toward their leadership development. Participants have the opportunity to explore personal and leadership values, network with other campus leaders, and develop the skills necessary for success.
The Center for Leadership’s Falcon Leadership Institute develops self-aware leaders who have the skills to build professional networks and create personal connections within their cohort and throughout campus. Guided by the ideals of servant leadership, students participate in service-learning and leadership projects that enhance the community. Participants begin earning the BGSU Leadership Certificate by learning the skills and competencies necessary for a successful life and career.
The Student Leader Retreat (SLR) has a strong tradition of bringing prominent BGSU student groups together to highlight the importance of their roles on campus. This 2 1/2-day experience is designed to build a foundation for a year of successful collaboration around student events, programs and projects.

The CfL presents the annual Student Leadership Assistant Talks styled after TedTalks. A one night event comprised of ten minute sessions presented by the SLAs. SLAs talk about their leadership journey and highlight how leadership growth never ends. Join us for this special event!
The Leadership Certificate Program is a self-paced, comprehensive, leadership development program designed to encourage and recognize student leadership education and experiences at Bowling Green State University.
The LCP is awarded in April at the applauding Excellence Award Ceremony.
The Center for Leadership is pleased to announce the 6th annual Ray Marvin Leadership Awards to recognize the leadership contributions of BGSU students. Award recipients will receive a monetary gift ($2000) based on the assessment of their completed application, supporting materials, and finalist interview.
The Women of Distinction award honors undergraduate or graduate student, staff members or faculty members with excellence, ingenuity and the ability to overcome barriers that still exist for women. The women selected for this honor represent a diversity of backgrounds, personal characteristics, life experiences and are lifelong advocates for promoting equity for women and girls everywhere.
The LeaderShape® Institute is an intensive and energizing six-day program designed to encourage participants to become leaders with integrity. The curriculum is used on college campuses nationwide and participants become alumni of this prestigious program.
