Student Leader Retreat
The Student Leader Retreat (SLR) has a strong tradition of bringing prominent BGSU student groups together to highlight the importance of their roles on campus. This 2 1/2-day experience is designed to build a foundation for a year of successful collaboration around student events, programs and projects.
Leadership Safari will be one of the most interactive and high energy experiences of your orientation. We will explore the dynamics of your college experience, develop a multitude of opportunities for success, and put you on a path to accomplishing your biggest personal and professional goals. Ryan’s presentations are laced with hilariousness and practical strategies for exceeding as a student leader. Ryan is the founder of Take Back College, is the author of Degree in Ninja - A Student’s Guide to Study, Strike and Succeed, and acts as the Director of Professional Development at the University of Minnesota’s Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
First Falcon Leadership Conference
The First Flight Leadership Conference is a leadership conference designed specifically for first year students. This conference will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Olscamp 101. First year students should come learn how to make the most of their college experience and learn from some of BGSU's most engaged and prominent student leaders. We hope you launch your leadership journey with us at First Flight!
Leadership Academy is the premier, annual leadership conference at Bowling Green State University. This one-day event takes place in November and engages students in educational sessions targeted toward their leadership development. Participants have the opportunity to explore personal and leadership values, network with other campus leaders, and develop the skills necessary for success.
Falcon Leadership Institute
The Center for Leadership’s Falcon Leadership Institute develops self-aware leaders who have the skills to build professional networks and create personal connections within their cohort and throughout campus. Guided by the ideals of servant leadership, students participate in service-learning and leadership projects that enhance the community. Participants begin earning the BGSU Leadership Certificate by learning the skills and competencies necessary for a successful life and career.
The Annual Leadership Week will celebrate and promote leadership across BGSU's campus through discussions, presentations, and information sessions. This week-long initiative will feature programs to get you involved and learning more about leadership opportunities and what being a leader at BGSU is all about.
Spring Leadership Conference
The Spring Leadership Conference is on February 16, 1-5pm in the BTSU. Registration ends February 7.
Ray Marvin Leadership Award
The Center for Leadership is pleased to announce the 4th annual Ray Marvin Leadership Awards to recognize the leadership contributions of BGSU students. Award recipients will receive a monetary gift ($2500, $1500, or $1000) based on the assessment of their completed application, supporting materials, and finalist interview.
Leadership Legacy Series
The Center for Leadership presents the annual Student Leadership Legacy Series. This series will be comprised of six different sessions throughout April presented by graduating BGSU student leaders. These students will select topics centered on areas that have been most helpful to them during their leadership journey.
The LeaderShape Institute
The LeaderShape® Institute is an intensive and energizing six-day program designed to encourage participants to become leaders with integrity. The curriculum is used on college campuses nationwide and participants become alumni of this prestigious program.
