Unlock your leadership potential:
The Leadership Workshop Series
Here in the Center for Leadership, we want to help you unlock your leadership potential. Through a series of education experiences offered throughout the semester, you can develop skills that will serve you well inside the classroom, in the BGSU community, and beyond.
Women of Distinction Award
We kindly request your assistance in identifying deserving women for recognition at the 2015 Women of Distinction awards program. This event honors outstanding campus women for their mentorship, leadership, and contributions to women’s empowerment. Last year was the inaugural Women of Distinction event on the BGSU campus, and the 2015 awards program promises to be an exciting continuation of this new tradition.
Register for the Inclusive Leadership Certificate Program
The Inclusive Leadership Certificate (ILC), offered by the Center for Leadership and the Office of Multicultural Affairs, is a program that will help you develop the attitudes, knowledge, and skills for inclusive leadership in an increasingly diverse world. Employers are looking for leaders who value & develop inclusive leadership skills. This is a perfect way to incorporate that competency into your leadership toolkit, meet people who share your interests, and contribute to making BGSU a more inclusive community. Education sessions, a major component of the ILC, occur on Mondays, 5:30-7:00pm, in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Center for Leadership: Be the Change, Lead the Change
Leadership is learned. The Center for Leadership guides, engages, and teaches students to achieve true leadership abilities. We use mentors, teachers, and community leaders to help students develop this lifelong skill. It is a skill our students use today in their classrooms, in student organizations, and in the community. It is a skill that becomes a part of who they are and who they will become.
Through workshops, classes, and special programs, we take students through every facet of leadership. They learn to lead with integrity and get others excited about getting involved. They learn the real meaning of group dynamics and how to create a team that works as one to achieve its goals. Students learn how to engage others and how to settle conflicts. We give them direction on how to network, broaden their reach, and excel in their missions. We teach them that leaders never stop learning.
