The decisions Amanda made with “Defining Representation," for instance, were careful ones, ones in which she exhibited sensitivity to audience expectations while still finding a way to accomplish the work she wanted to do, in the ways she wanted to do it.  Not knowing whether or not, in her words, she could "trust another English teacher" or not, she looked to her roommates and sister for feedback, support and assistance on her work.
