Bowling Green State University

Degree
track for the registered nurse
The College of Nursing also offers an opportunity
for graduates of associate degree and diploma
nursing programs to earn a baccalaureate degree
with a major in nursing. The RN student achieves
the same terminal objectives as the basic student.
However, this alternate track for the RN provides
for flexibility and an individualized curriculum
approach for the nurse in practice. This program
is offered online.
Admission
requirements
Criteria for seeking admission to the major
include:
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 overall, including all transfer work;
- Graduation from an accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program; diploma candidates from non-articulating programs must submit a portfolio;
- Current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio;
- Must have a C or better in all supportive requirements, university requirements, and nursing core courses.
Applications to the nursing major are available in the nursing offices on the main and Firelands campuses. A lab fee is assessed for all clinical courses.
Graduation
requirements
A minimum of 123 hours is required for graduation,
of which 40 hours must be in upper-division
coursework. In addition, the 30 hours earned
immediately before graduation must be completed
through Bowling Green State University, uninterrupted
by coursework at another university or college.
University

Each student is required to complete GSW 1120
or demonstrate a proficiency in written expression
equivalent to that attained by students who
have completed the course. A penalty is imposed
if GSW 1120 is not completed within the first
