Career
services provides educational and career counseling
and information to students, alumni and community
members. A wide variety of career-related print
and electronic materials can be found in the
career services office. Electronic resources
can be accessed though the Career Services web
page on the College web site at www.firelands.bgsu.edu/offices/career.
Additionally, career services offers two on
line career interest inventories: the Strong
Interest Inventory, which can be accessed through
the Career Services office, and FOCUS, which
is available to students through the web portal, my.bgsu.edu. Career Planning and Job Search
courses are offered each semester.
Career
services offers job search assistance, résumé
review, and résumé writing assistance and information
on effective interviewing for students and alumni.
The office also offers résumé referrals, sponsors
a job each November, and posts job openings
on jobs boards located in the West building.
On-campus
student employment is coordinated by this office,
as well as services for veterans of the armed
forces.
