This curriculum is primarily intended as an option for students who major in biology, chemistry, geology, mathematics, physics, or technology. The basic prerequisites for the survey courses (MATS 4010/4020) include one year of physics and chemistry, or permission of the instructor. The program includes 20 semester hours of specialized coursework in materials:
