Position Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Finance
The position is a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate/full professor level with a primary interest in Insurance and secondary interest in Investment or Corporate Finance preferred.
Applicants must possess an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance, Insurance or a closely related field. ABD’s will be considered if completion of the degree is anticipated by Summer 2015. Applicants must have a strong commitment to quality teaching and research in Insurance/Finance and will be judged on their demonstrated record and potential for excellence in teaching and research in Insurance/Finance. Evidence of teaching effectiveness in Insurance is required, and industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels and conducting quality research leading to publication. The individual will also be expected to participate actively in departmental programs and university-wide and community service activities. Both undergraduate and MBA programs are AACSB accredited.
Competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position and in keeping with candidate experience and credentials.

Anticipated starting date of employment is August 2015. The availability of this position is subject to final budget approval and approval of the new Insurance Program.

The Department of Finance currently has six full-time and two part-time/adjunct faculty members and offers programs leading to the BSBA degree with a specialization in Finance and the Master of Business Administration. The Department also offers the Financial Planning Concentration within the Finance specialization, which is officially registered with the U.S. CFP Board of Standards, and will offer Minor in Finance starting Fall 2014.
