Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
The Executive Master of Business Administration program is designed for experienced professionals that seek to expand their skills to succeed in today's global business environment. This nationally distinguished program was the first of its kind in Ohio and is highly recognized for its quality and value.
The BGSU College of Business Administration is one of only 178 programs in the world whose business and accounting programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, AACSB, the pinnacle of business education accreditation.
EMBA students are accepted in cohorts of 20-25 people that work together and graduate as part of the same close-knit group in this accelerated, 18-month program.
The EMBA differentiates itself from other BGSU MBA programs by covering subjects from a strategic perspective. Class time is spent analyzing management decisions and their alternatives from a leadership perspective. Classes are interactive, and students learn from the experiences that their classmates bring from their own organizations.
The EMBA classes begin in October of each year. Students attend class one weekend per month, which allows them to succeed in their current career while earning a top-quality MBA. The BGSU EMBA program is very competitively priced among EMBA programs in the Midwest. The weekend format once per month makes BGSU’s EMBA attractive to students throughout the region and beyond Northwest Ohio.
The curriculum focuses on using scientific data to make decisions in finance, accounting, business law and ethics, managing human resources and develops business leadership skills in a global environment. There is a study abroad experience that concentrates on principles and techniques of international management. Recent destinations for the trips have included China, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
The College of Business Administration supports students to reach their fullest potential through learning, discovery, and service. BGSU’s MBA programs have been identified on The Princeton Review’s list of “Best Business Schools” for the last nine consecutive years, and Business Week ranks it as one of the top 20 colleges of business in the United States. The BGSU College of Business has also been recognized for its quality in US News and World Report and Military Times.
