Going Beyond Business as Usual
A message from the Dean
Greetings from the College of Business!

This fall, we welcomed 542 freshmen to the College of Business: our biggest class in 15 years. This is also a high-achieving class, with impressive ACT scores and class rankings. What an outstanding start to the academic year!

Classes started on Aug. 21 and fall activities are in full swing. The Dean's Picnic on the Green and the college's student organization fair had strong student attendance. The Dean's Workshops are underway and students are polishing their professional business skills as well as improving their golf game for business networking opportunities. Over the weekend, we honored our high-achieving students with the annual Honors and Awards Program and recognized the generous donors who support our students through scholarships. I also met some of our students' family members at the Family Weekend - if you are among them, thank you!

Many alumni are returning to campus for Homecoming October 13-15. In conjunction with the festivities, we are hosting a College of Business tailgate tent before the game, and I welcome you to stop by. Our departments are hosting alumni advisory board meetings with board members coming together for a joint board luncheon.

We are gearing up for the sold-out Women in Leadership conference on October 20 and the Business Analytics Symposium on October 27. Once again, we have fantastic speakers, and I look forward to seeing you at these conferences.

In the meantime, please let me know of any success stories you would like to share. The next issue of Biz News is in January.

Warm regards,
Dean Ray Braun
