Diebold VP and Chief Supply Chain Officer Was Keynote at Spring SCMI Networking Event

SCMI Spring Professional Certificates

Over 200 supply chain students, company representatives, and BGSU faculty and staff attended the 2016 Spring Supply Chain Management Institute (SCMI) Networking Event on February 8.   The dinner was also a joint meeting with ISM (Institute for Supply Management) Northwest Ohio.

The keynote speaker was Linda Parcher ‘86, Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Diebold, and a BGSU alumna.   She described her career path from BGSU graduation to vice president.  In addition, Parcher discussed competencies that are essential for supply chain professionals and some of the current trends that will shape the future of supply chains.

During the dinner meeting, Jonathan Gilberg and Ryan Polk from CACI were recognized for that company’s outstanding contribution to the BGSU supply chain program.  Gilberg and colleagues from CACI wrote an interactive case that allows students to experience a realistic services sourcing process that includes negotiating with CACI professionals in the role of suppliers.

Also at the meeting, six supply chain students were awarded the SCMI Professional Development Certificate.  These students demonstrated good academic performance, completed an internship, are active in the Supply Chain Management Association student organization, completed career preparation, and are demonstrated leaders.

The recipients are pictured below from left - Shannon Jordan, Rob Everard, Michael Gallagher, Rimas Pliodzinskas, Seth Traeger, and Shane Rowlands.
