Lift Every Voice and Sing (LEVAS)
LEVAS will perform every Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. during the month of February in the Bowling Green and Fremont elementary schools.

LEVAS is a very unique group comprised of eight African American music majors from the College of Musical Arts at BGSU. These students have come together to create an informative musical program that outlines the history of African Americans. The program begins in Africa where the students reenact stories that are rarely included in American history. They continue through the slavery and church periods, the jazz era, the civil rights movement, and the Motown era. The program is then ended with a little information on more recent musical successes. The performance is designed to be informative as well as entertaining as the students share powerful musical selections that are relevant to each period.
