I need to get a new card. Do I have to bring anything with me to get it?
You will need to bring one of the following forms of identification with you to BG1 Card Services
         A valid State-issued driver's license with photo.
         A valid State-issued photo ID card
         A valid passport with photo
         A valid military ID card

Is there a fee to get a new or replacement card?
There is a $25 fee that will get posted to your Bursar account for each card. This fee is subject to change.

I lost my current BG1 Card but found my old one. Can I use the old one?
Just bring your old card to BG1 Card Services to have it reactivated. It's quick, simple and free!

How do I open a BG Bucks account or add money to an existing account?
If you have a current BGSU photo ID, you already have a BG Bucks account. Click here for more information on how you can activate your account with a deposit.

What is the Card Verification Code (CVV2) that is requested when I try to make a deposit on-line?
That is the three digit code that is listed on the back of your credit card. You must have this code in order to use the on-line deposit feature. Red circle on back of credit card showing cvv code

If I make a deposit to my BG Bucks account using a credit card, will I be charged a service fee?
No, you will not be charged fees to add money to your BG Bucks account.

What are the differences between BG Bucks and Meal Plans?
BG Bucks is a prepaid or stored value account that is used for locations all across campus such as Dining Services, select vending machines, and select community merchants. BG Bucks account may be used to supplement your meal plan.
Standard Meal Plans
are a set amount of funds that are used at residential dining facilities.
Flex funds
are used for dining in the Student Union, Wendy's on campus, as well as the residential dining facilities.

Can I make a cash withdrawal or get a refund of my BG Bucks?
You cannot make a cash withdrawal from you BG Bucks Account. However, you can request a refund. Complete the Refund Request form. Please allow approximately two to three weeks to receive your refund check. A check processing fee will be deducted from the amount of the refund.

Is the BG1 Card a credit card that I can use anywhere?
No. The BG Bucks is a prepaid or stored value account that is only accepted on-campus and by select community merchants who have registered to participate in the program. The BG1 Card is the photo ID used to access the account. Click here for a complete list of where your card is accepted.

Do my BG Bucks expire?
Your BG Bucks carry forward from semester to semester and from year to year.

Who should I contact if I have a question about one of my transactions?
You need to first discuss the issue where the transaction originated. If you have further questions, please contact the BG1 Card Services.

Where is BG1 Card Services located?
BG1 Card Services is located on the first floor of the University Bookstore in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.

Can I use my refund check from the Office of the Bursar to make a deposit to my BG Bucks account?
Yes. Bring your refund check and your BG1 Card to BG1 Card Services.

Is my privacy protected?
Information about your account activity can only be shared with the person(s) you have designated on the "Authorization to Release Information".

I have run out of flex funds, can I still purchase meals at the Union?
The BG Bucks can be used at any dining facilities on campus, including the Union. You may make a deposit to your BG Bucks account or contact the Office of the Bursar to add to your flex funds.

I am confused about my meal plan balances on MyBGSU. Who can help me with this ?
