Research:

Our group focuses on fundamental and applied research of semiconductors and complex oxides for use in optoelectronic, spintronics and information technology.  Research includes controlled synthesis of nanomaterials and epitaxial thin films and characterization of their structures, defects, and electronic properties.  We use both wet chemistry and metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) and explore developing new methods for thin film technology.  In addition to common structural, optical and electronic characterization techniques we apply other unique methods such as positron annihilation spectroscopy, thermally stimulated luminescence, and X-ray induced luminescence.

We are particularly interested in the study of strongly correlated systems and complex oxides such as SrTiO3 exploring the novel surface and interface physics, which will be the base for the future development of nanoscience and nanotechnology.  Our group is also active in developing new characterization techniques and building new instrumentation.
