Master of Arts in Teaching
The Department of History at BGSU is excited to introduce an MAT program newly revised to the most current NCATE standards.
For additional details on the MAT program and graduate courses, please contact the graduate secretary, Ms. Tina Thomas (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the graduate coordinator, Dr. Michael Brooks (email@example.com).
Requirements for Admission:
Applicants to the M.A.T. program must be certified to teach K-12 prior to admission and may submit Praxis II or NTE scores in lieu of GREs. (GREs are also accepted.) The application also requires undergraduate transcripts and three letters of reference.

There is no language requirement for the MAT program.
Whether you are seeking a degree or graduate credits in History for certification, the BGSU Department of History offers courses accessible to educators:
- Online courses
- Six-week summer session courses
- Night classes (6-9pm) at both the BGSU main campus (multiple) and the new BGSU Levis Commons facility (one per semester starting Fall, 2010)
- Saturday classes (one per year)
- One credit-hour workshop
The Department offers courses in African, Asian, American, Canadian, European, Latin American, World, Policy, and Public History.
