Placement Guide

All students who have submitted iBT TOEFL and IELTS scores (no more than two years old) for admission to BGSU will be placed into ESOL classes according to their test scores unless students opt to take the Versant English Placement Test (VEPT Placement) instead. Please refer to the chart below for placement information. Students without TOEFL/IELTS scores should consult our Testing Information page to determine whether ESOL testing will be required. In addition, International Teaching Assistants and Associates (ITAs) should consult International Teaching Assistant/Associate Information.
