Prospective Students

You have a lot of options for studying about the environment at BGSU. Our curricula in Environmental Policy and Analysis and Environmental Science each prepare graduates for meaningful and important professional careers. They also offer flexibility in course selection, and opportunity to pursue professional degrees (such as in medicine and law) and further graduate studies.

Applying for admission is easy – you can do this on-line through our Admissions Office.

Jobs and internships are almost always a key part of deciding on an academic major. Our internship program has our students working in interesting jobs as close by as the local park and as far away as Alaska. Our interns work in the private sector and in government, in industry and in natural settings. A shortage of well-prepared environmental professionals poses a problem for both industry and government – and a great situation for our graduates! The following linked list shows some of the interesting places that have hired our graduates.

Our faculty are deeply committed to undergraduate education. Students (and prospective students!) are always welcome to meet with us. We offer special opportunities for research and independent study. Classroom discussion includes many examples based upon practical real-world experiences.

Don’t hesitate to email sees@bgsu.edu or call at 419-372-8207 if you have questions or would like to set up an appointment to meet with us. We are looking forward to having you join us at BGSU!
