As graduate of BGSU, I had a wonderful experience learning, growing and developing into the person I am today.  As your Design Coach, I look forward to helping you design your very own BGSU memorable experience that will last a lifetime!  Are you ready!?!
- Greg

Greg's story is an eclectic collection of experiences emphasizing the importance of finding joy and adventure. Originally from Elyria, Ohio, Greg received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from BGSU and spent some time working as a law enforcement officer in Wood County's probation department. He quickly realized this was not the right fit, however, and returned to BGSU for his master's degree in Career Technology Education and spent some time working in business. Greg's career took off when he followed his passions for public speaking, television, and education. He became an entrepreneur and created an educational children's character named Strawman, eventually leading to a PBS pilot and a live assembly program called, The Adventures of Strawman and Dr. Warts. Later, Greg served as an Academic Advisor and an adjunct instructor at BGSU for many years before joining the Life Design team. Greg's students will be inspired by his energy, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in hearing their stories.

Greg's favorite Life Design tool with students is the Maker Mix, which teaches students to consider how money, impact, and creative expression weigh into their plans. When teaching BGSU 1910, the Life Design course, students will see the influence of Greg's experience using project-based learning in the classroom as an adjunct instructor. He encourages students to try new things and use the design thinking process to experiment in the real world. As someone with four career changes, Greg emphasizes that a person's journey may only sometimes be predictable. Students should be fearless in taking calculated risks to pursue their passion.

Greg's best advice for students is to live a life with no regrets, establish relationships with people from all walks of life, prioritize your health, and remember to have fun. Given that he has been an undergraduate student, graduate student, and long-time employee at BGSU, students can have confidence in his unparalleled knowledge of the university and its students. As a Life Design Coach, Greg uses this knowledge to help students achieve their dreams, and he will be there as a source of support every step of the way.
